I live in very small town, there is no police or sheriff. Nearest one is about 20 miles away, here are some rules:
It is okay to take a mans wife, but not his property or dog.
If you do not know what you are doing, do not worry somebody else does know what you are doing.
Did you arrive here with the correct wife? Do not worry you will leave here with the correct wife.
Disputes are settled at the river, what happens at the river stay at the river.

We were on a road trip in a van through south Georgia (US) and stopped at a small town's Waffle House at night. We finished our meal only to find out that our starter had died. Nice guy mechanic inside looked at it and said he'd be back in the morning to fix it. We slept in the van, and sure enough, he was there a 7 AM, fixed it and only charged us the cost of the part. We gave him $50, and went happily on our way.

"(1/2)

Corn doesn’t look like corn.

Seems obvious, but it wasn’t to the inlaws.

The family went for a walk on the farm during the inlaws’ first 4th of July party. The 10 yr old boy asks, ”What’s that?” and points to the corn."
