My coworker had a philosophy "professor" in community college who pronounced René Descartes as "Re-nee Dess-CAR-tess." He thought I was lying to him, because "why would (the "professor") not know?"

#17 Computer programs in the 90's were not as complex as today. Today the programs put a bigger space after punctuation.
