I think there's one at the other side as well and you're supposed to close both meeting in the middle.. They are probably in a kind of rail at the top and bottom. She basically pulled it too far outside the top one. It was balanced for a minute and then fell.
Yeah, this side for it self is not enough to close the whole entrance, it is clear.
