If it has gotten like that since the house was built and drainage issue is mitigated somewhat then you wouldn't really need to do that again for a decade or so.

Well, in the local college town, some major idiots tried this to mitigate major ground issues. Imagine a large series of apartments, sinking And then instead of accepting their mistake, they used tons (literal) of foam. Unlivable is the word.

You have pointed out the worst case scenario of building negligence. But this is just a driveway, meant to hold only a car. Viable solution, but does concrete cost too much to do a patch?
