Almost everything has become better. General knowledge, technology, general safety, health care, acceptance of people that haven't been before just to name a few have improved.
IQ tests keep needing to be adjusted to prevent showing ridiculously high scores proving people are becoming smarter, cars are a lot safer, far less people killed in road accidents, people in the 60's usually had fake teeth around the time they were 60. Not so these days.
Just a few examples but I could fill this whole comment section many times over.
The only thing that's different is that you instantly know about horrible acts if they occur thanks to the internet.
If there was a school massacre in Japan in the 80's for example, people in Europe likely never heard about it.
A news broadcast or paper only had so much time or room and communication was less developed as well as a greater focus on local and domestic news.
A newsite today has all the room to place anything it wants and people are more interested in news around the globe.
But all in all everything is improving. Just because things are different than when you were young, doesn't mean it's bad.
Btw, it seems you like at least two modern things... Picdumps and their comment sections.
I should have been more specific, most modern "art", "music", "dance", and most "architecture" sucks. Of course things like you mentioned are better, but not as much recently.
Most modern art, architecture and the like I I have to agree on (though obviously a lot don't share that opinion and that's ok) But there are still great bands starting now. It may not be found in the charts but that was never the case.
If you look at all the well known god 60's songs for example, most of them never made it high on the list.
Plus, don't forget, whatever music you grew up with that yiu consider great was the same music your parents probably hated while saying "music is pure smeg these days, back in my day..."
I know my parents did.
Its an advertisement for a sh#t personality.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion isn't it? It is still a right to ventilate it, too. It says a lot about you when you call that "judging". Man, people are too easily offended these days...
You seem offended by his comment acting all triggered. But you know what they say about people these days...
Before artists were signing from passion - for love, emotions etc.
PASSION!?!? What a ridiculous comment
Did you mean to write 'f@#kedup' ?
If so, I need to tell you it is two separate words, f@#ked and up.
