My father was a drydock master, he told me about this danger. This is why they let cables slip around the boulder, when slowing down a ship during mooring.

Saw this guy driver a forklift with the mast hitting the main cable of a Cirque Du Soleil Big Top. He was wondering why the forklift didn't move, and just hit the throttle. That was his last day on the forklift

We moor the mega and ultra cruise ships in my hometown and they clear the entire dock of all vehicles and pedestrians a half hour before the ships arrive abd leave because THIS has happened. No injuries to people but tore the 5 foot cleat right off the metal dock, sheering the two inch thick bolts.
