#13 yes ... faster than light travel, energy shields, brain planets, reality controlling stones, time travel has so much more going for it, than a simple magnetic tape you can replace in a mechanical analogue Walkman you can repair with basic tools

You could replace the tape with a new copy with technology around you. I presume it was about the nostalgia and the sound from the device. You would not loose that with a new tape or walkman.

#9 - No offense, but it doesn't work that way. Think of a child as a project that has a duration of 100,000 hours. Your project has a hierarchy of needs - some very important, some less important. And the hierarchy is ever changing as the child matures. Behavior is a consistent need that spans from beginning to end - and that is never out of date. Teaching a child technology is comparatively low priority and indeed whatever the parent teaches will be quickly out of date - but that is true at a University also because new technology is in the field (not in the school). You'll find out when you become a parent
