I landed in the USA in 1981 with 6, $1000 bills from cashing in my UK funds. The first and only thing my future farther in-law said was "best o luck cashing those"
Had he not been so negative he could have said those are worth 2 X face value but he didn't
I did not find that out before I had had all of them snatched (literally) from my hands, primarily from bar owners who knew the true value before I figured it out

Today they are worth 3 to 4 times face value, not that thy could have stayed in my possession that long but 2x is still way better than not

#10 Of course this only works if you've reset the clock since the last power outage. Don't think that my oven clock has been reset in five years, so I use the timer. But it is a great idea!
