#8 Since you're cleaning up broken glass while barefoot, you might just as well simply walk around to find any shards you missed.
Saves on flashlight batteries, too.

#8 Good idea... but the BEST way to clean up tiny glass fragments is to use a wet paper towel over the area. The moisture attracts the microscopic particles and traps them for disposal. For carpet, dab the area after vacuming. Its amazing.

Regularly check for mold in the areas you normally don’t go.

Make sure you check for mold in those areas in your house that you don’t go to regularly because it can grow just off humidity in the air and on almost any surface. If you spotted some, don’t try to clean it up the way you’d deal with dust: mold will come back very quickly.
