Disinfect your shoes if they smell.
If your shoes have an unpleasant smell, you can try spraying a disinfectant inside the shoe to eliminate the bacteria that is causing the smell. Deodorant might work, too, but it will mask the smell, not eliminate the reason.

#8 Since you're cleaning up broken glass while barefoot, you might just as well simply walk around to find any shards you missed.

#8 Good idea... but the BEST way to clean up tiny glass fragments is to use a wet paper towel over the area. The moisture attracts the microscopic particles and traps them for disposal. For carpet, dab the area after vacuming. Its amazing.
