Someone who lives half hour from work would make an hour extra per day than those who live closer...doesn't sound like they thought it through
that is the entire point. the person that lives closer has that much more time for themselves.

When your deductions are already maxed out and you still owe taxes it doesn't really help. Of course that's only lower working class people, wealthy can afford to hire someone to do their taxes. Just like massive companies, taxes are for the poor, the rich know how to avoid them...
