#1 Because other than all that oil, we couldn't care less at all about the middle east, particularly all those religious fanatical @$$holes. Personally, I'm fine with letting them all kill each other. Good riddance, more oil for us.

Seems that you strawman arguement, the Aztecs by all accounts were really horrible. But show me a historical account of anything that the Aztecs did where they made a better world. And I'll show you many Christians who did.
Since you brought up religion, let me point out that Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and Mao Zadong were avowed and public Atheists and made their governments officially atheist too. It is, of course, indisputable that they caused incredible violence and death to millions upon millions so that they the crimes are more like dry statistics now. Check your bias at the door!

#8 Artifacts should belong to whoever or whatever organization found them, not the country in which they were found. If they weren't in first world museums, no one would ever learn about their culture, because we're sure as hell not going to their sh#thole country and visiting their sh#tty museum.
