how did this become a thing?
Like most stupid internet trends, someone does something, films it then posts it online.
Soon after, a whole lot of idiots see it and decide they have to do it too.
Sometimes it'll go on for years, with each new idiot posting their own version of it thinking it's funny, when in reality it might have been amusing once or twice, years ago.
