DeWalt is owned by B&D, which is based in Towson, Maryland.
I used to own and actual cordless B&D set like this, but only really used the drill & saw.
(D'oh) You're right...it is corded. oops. But, both companies you mentioned, irrespective of who owns who or where they're "based", the manufactured parts and assembly is still in China, where quality and durability go to die. B&D was at their best when all of their products were made in USA. I have corded and hand tools from the 1950's that I still use regularly by B&D and Craftsman. Dewalt's quality has suffered as well. They are practically as 'durable' as Ryobi, which is ostensibly a low quality 'disposable' tool company.
