This selection must have been compiled by a younger person as most of these movies are very recent. But, you really haven't seen "odd and obscure" until you've seen David Lynch's 'Eraserhead' from 1977. Once viewed...half of these movies will seem pointless.
Yeah, I was thinking many of these are considered classics and are FAR from obscure.
Mine is still the animated Grave of the Fireflies. Everyone should watch at least ONCE, it's horrible but incredibly beautiful and important. It still haunts me half my life later.
#14 Anyone ever see Warlock (1989)? I was a kid and really liked it, so I watched Boxing Helena just because it had Julian Sands in it. Yeah, so that was a mistake...
I saw Warlock way back in the day. It's alright, but better if you're high. Boxing Helena was excellent. But another decent Julian Sands movie was "Gothic." Good cast and based (very loosely) on an actual event. Again, better watched when high.
Easily found on DVD. I was young when I first saw it and thought that was just what kids do. Also Rosario Dawson was discovered while working on this movie. I believe it is her debut.
#23 Shocked me on first viewing but became one of my favorites.
Ok, so I watched it (only 30 min long) and I'm back. I thought it would be a horror movie of some sort, but it wasn't. At least not in the way that you think. It was........ it was something else.
I can safely say that Bonita Applebum was right, and that none of you need to watch it. Just... just don't. I wish I had't.

Eraserhead is old school cult classic. Re-Animator is another good one.
Pink Flamingos is right up there, too. (Actually, anything by John Waters.)
