I don't know where this guy is doing all of this but in the Willamette Valley, Oregon if you take a nice cold river rock and put heat on one side you need to stand way back because the rock will explode. We found that out years ago when we ringed our camp fire with river rocks. They got hot and exploded throwing rock chip in different directions. I do like the fire log idea. But not to cook with river rocks.
