Insofar as most trash put into recycling bins in the U.S. ends up in landfills anyways, it may not even matter much
Just like plastic bags. Does anyone realize how many food products come contained or wrapped in plastic, but we are no longer allowed to carry them home in plastic? And of course, the plastic bags were the result of tree huggers crying about paper bags coming from trees...which can be replanted.
It came from the earth. It's returned to the earth. It's recycled.
Because it's for the owner to have a good laugh.
