Not quite as bad as the house in this video but in my neighborhood there is someone trying to rent out a house for $4k a month - the mortgage on it is probably no more than $2k a month. I laughed when I saw that - you’d have to be nuts to pay $4k a month in rent unless you needed a place to stay while you built your $10M mansion.

But capitialism. However only worth 1.25M if someone is willing (or stupid enough) to buy for that price. Neighbors are also hoping that it sells high as it pushes up the valuations for their houses.

Honestly, people don't buy houses anymore, they just convince banks to give them loans until they foreclose a few years later.

But my homeowners association (which is self-induced communism not capitalism) says my house is supposed to be worth 10 times reality when I want to sell it.
