Not sure I believe this. Most rubber compounds used in tires will begin to soften and deform at temperatures above 300 F / 149 C.

Andrew, it looks real but my guess is that they spread something called "TrackBite" on the tire. TrackBite is a synthetic resin used in drag racing to increase the traction of a car's tires. It stays sticky for weeks.

It looks like they poured acetate on the tires, or even a thick paste for the fun effect. Tires will not melt like that in the heat anyway, they crumble.
