Dominic, wassat No idea what this person is attempting to say. I know that retcon is the revising of an established story - but describing the lead up to Y2K as “monotonous”? And then talking about Office Space? Probably made sense to them but no one else.

#14 - as I recall it, they did start calling records “vinyl” shortly after CDs came out. CDs were cool because they were small and all digital but many people liked records because they had greater dynamic range (a friend of mine would not switch to CDs for that reason). So the record fans started to call the superior dynamic range “vinyl” as a way of distinguishing the less dynamic CD. Boomer out.

In my country, we don't even waste our time arguing with idiots. We just let time do it's work.

"My dad got laid off twice in the early ’80s, when I was a kid. It was a rough period for a lot of my relatives also. You never hear about that early-’80s recession anymore, people just go, ‘Oh, everyone could buy a big house with just a high school degree.’ There were a ton of homeless people in the ’80s where I grew up also."
