Nope. The laser is reacting to the oxidation on top of the dense metal, the wood is a porous organic surface, so a little discoloration but not really.
but.....this has lasers......pew pew!
Metal brushes cause surface damage, and remove more than patina, oxidation and rust. This is safer for artifacts.
