The smoke sort of defeats the camouflage design of the door. Not that it really matters as the sod on top of the door would dry out fairly quickly and outline the door. There's also the fact that there isn't any seal around the door to keep rain water from flowing right in to flood the dugout.

Just digging it, I would be afraid of it collapsing inward on top of me with no support beams to hold the dirt up and to the sides.
