#1 I wonder if those who saw the Charlton Heston version of Ben Hur in 1959 thought the same thing, since it was a remake of the 1925 silent movie original.
While 'Der Himmel Über Berlin' was an artsy and wonderful experience, the (kind of) remake 'City of Angels' was an absolute unit of intolerable garbage. Nick Cage and Meg Ryans take could be summed up in 4 sentences, instead they took 2 hours for 'Angel falls in love with girl, angel becomes human, girl falls in love with angel, girl dies.' And i'm making it sound better than it was.
“Honorable mention for Total Recall. Which in many ways has more in common with the book than the original movie. Does not change the fact that it’s mind-numbing bland garbage.”
