I hate remakes as a rule also, especially when they are made to accommodate a social or political agenda! (woke) dash

they should remake terrible movies and try to make them better, instead of remaking good movies that turn out worse.

#1 I wonder if those who saw the Charlton Heston version of Ben Hur in 1959 thought the same thing, since it was a remake of the 1925 silent movie original.

While 'Der Himmel Über Berlin' was an artsy and wonderful experience, the (kind of) remake 'City of Angels' was an absolute unit of intolerable garbage. Nick Cage and Meg Ryans take could be summed up in 4 sentences, instead they took 2 hours for 'Angel falls in love with girl, angel becomes human, girl falls in love with angel, girl dies.' And i'm making it sound better than it was.

The Wicker Man

“The Wicker Man is a different beast of a bad movie completely. You get to see Cage in a bear costume run around decking women in the face. The absurdity of how that plays out is worth the price of admission. I think if you know you are getting into some bat sh#t crazy absurdity and incompetence before you see the movie, then you can enjoy the spectacle for what it is.”
