He speaks the truth. Where did the soles of their shoes come from? The bristles of their toothbrushes? The polyester and elastic in their hats, socks, and underwear? Do they have wooden cell phones? When they walk their dogs what are most leashes made out of? Those sweet orange vests made of hemp? Jeepers creepers.

People are disturbing other peoples lives and work that is not peaceful

Tanafra,

There’s also the right to counter-protest. But you hate that, don’t you. No one dares confront the fascistic left.

Justina,

Fact, logic and reason have no place in minimally lobed brains of your common jack-booted, fascist leftist. That man is wasting his breath on that legion of intellectually stultified inferiors.

Justina,

all of those are brilliant examples as to why we need to stop using oil and look for alternatives! I mean, oil will not be there for ever ever and it's probably a good idea to "reserve" its usage for absolutely irreplaceable things rather than just burning it or make throwaway plastics out of it.

Sure. But there won't be oil forever. Production has already declined. Oil, as many other things, is a limited resource which needed hundreds of millions years to be naturally produced by the planet. We are burning everything in few hundreds of years.
The only infinite thing is the greed of capitalists

The point is to make using oil more challenging as opposed to the de facto norm of convenience through consumption.

It is all theatrics meant to engage and entertain a silent base who will adjust their voting over the long term when they see others with similar perspective.

For those opposed: You witness democracy in action (i.e. peaceful protest) and complain about hypocrisy of the protest. A little hypocritical, don't ya think?

Tanafra,

There’s nothing “peaceful” about this.
And they are not garnering support. The vast majority of the public hates these people.
If they truly cared about “democracy” then they would accept the will of the majority.

You could actually produce every product made from mineral oil out of plants. But production from mineral oil is cheaper. And you have to grow the plants somewhere and that's probably farmland where our food usually grows. But at some point when mineral oil runs out, there will be no alternative.

Mellia,

Mineral oil? Do you even know what you are talking about? Petrol is organic not mineral... and the history of production is more than what is "cheap". Advancements in technology would've have taken place without the plastic industry being created from the waste materials of the fuel industry.

Reminds me of vegans who return food that will be thrown away because it has an animal product in it. Waste is increased because of moral outrage. The real and logical waste reduction is achived by using when a mistake is made and making better choices in the future.
