It's not ineptitude. It's deliberate. For the likes and lulz, you know? In the days of 'TV's funniest videos' there would be people trying to fake something funny to win $10,000. Now we have this. And it's for something as superficial as social media clout. Contrived outcomes and personal tragedy is where it's at these days, from not being able to open a ketchup bottle, to pretending you have tourettes syndrome. And that's fudamentally way worse than what you're suggesting. I'd rather they WERE dumb and inept. At least they'd be honest about it.
