#11 I know that behavior... it usually comes from a cultural practice of politeness to show one is too full to eat everything provided. The other cause is food-insecurity, she tragically is saving the last bit for later in case there's a problem. The last is she lived with somone who said they wanted the last piece (especially roommates who buy ice cream and want at least one before it's gone). OR, she used to have a pet, and the last piece is in memoriam.

Virdie,

or she is just lazy and by not finishing she won't have to take away the trash/plate.

“Mine will ‘play’ our fat cat like bagpipes. (Without hurting her) He’ll hold her under one arm until she makes her annoyed growl/whine, then pat her belly to make the noise change pitch and rhythm. Also, the cat is obsessed with him and will let him do this for ages. If she runs away she comes back to him in two minutes to do it again. Weirdo creeps, both.”
