And this kids is why pilots of this type plane need to be wearing a full head helmet. If a bird has smacked in face this video would not have turned out so well.

Dickon, It appears to be a sailplane. No call for helmet or goggles. The canopy either was not closed correctly (pilot error) or the mechanism was faulty (possible pilot error for not noticing). That said, the young lady reacted admirably.

It is an Extra 330. A highly capable aerobatic airplane for those who don't know. Definitely not a glider (sailplane)!

That is definitely NOT a sailplane. The 90 degrees bank shortly after takeoff should prove it. A sailplane would be in very big trouble doing maneuver so shortly after takeoff.
