In 1996, I had a Dalmatian puppy. One day I came home from work to find the living room in shambles. Bit's and pieces of a leather-bound book written in 1585 (I collect ancient books) was all over the floor, and the remaining leather bits were buried deep into the inner springs of the torn up Mid Century Modern Herman Miller couch. She ran in whimpering and sat in front of me with the most forlorn "I'm so sorry" look on her face that all I could do was pick her up and snuggle her while telling her over and over that it was okay.

I still miss her so much.

This is why you can't have nice things, animals and children.

These dogs are not puppies. Which means, besides the accidental knock overs, their humans have allowed them to do these behaviors. I'm sorry to say, spanking a spoiled dog doesn't work, you have to stop the behavior thought pattern before they get this bad. Train yourself.
