unlike a cigar racing boat meant to do that, there's no 'spoiler' fins to apply and control downward force and keep the boat from flipping upward. also no hydrofoil underneath that it's riding on. good luck.

That's what floating on step looks like. It's a common thing for boats with overpowered engines. There is a very high risk of flipping if they try to bank or if they catch a deadhead log.
