I can relate to them, or at least the first two. Why not make it visible, since most drivers just don´t give cyclist enough space.

But that 2nd lad? Common, you don´t have to take that much space. To your right 1,50m as well or what was your plan? Absolutely deserved to got driven over, when you drive in the middle of a road as a cyclist! 27

Idiots !!!

In almost every country there is a maximum width for the bicycle and cargo. Don't exceed that width or the insurance company wins.

In Germany they tried to make the bicycle wider on the street side with a small flexible strip. The results were exactly the opposite of what was expected: if your car didn't touch the strip, the driver was sure he was driving within a sufficient distance. (the distance that drivers kept on average became less.) dash

wins.

Sorry you are abolutely wrong. These cycelists try to show the required minimum distance of 1,5m according to $5 StVO Abs4) cars have to keep when they overtake the cycelists.

Bill,

I bet every downvote is of someone that has NEVER EVER ridden their bicycle in any "real" traffic.

You lose. Former daily commuter here. 10 miles per day during the week and up to 26 miles round trip on weekends in So Cal. People did not have this sense of ego and entitlement that precious cyclists have today.

2nd one is idiot.... driving on the left size while having 1,5m on the right blocking the whole traffic...

all that 1,5m is bullshit.... do not make bike paths on the road, its lazy engineering... make it separate, so you do not need 1,5m rule... and it will be safer. more expensive sure, but safer. because thats what you want, right?

Cyclists are like left wing extremists. Fairness for everyone as long as it is convenient for me. The extra space is just white male political privilege. Patriarchy in action.

Cathy,

Every sentence proves that you are an idiot. Each one of them. Imbecile.

Calista, I don't mind you being wrong but the attitude you have while doing it is irksome. Do better.

also the first one - they are in the city center, cars drive visibly at their speeds, why do you need 1,5m there...? i would understand it in the area without bike lane and with cars driving higher speeds than cyclist...

No. the moment i give cyclists room and the benefit, is the moment they actually act like a motor vehicle. if you want to share the road, you must use signaling, stop splitting lanes, and you stay in the street.

Using the flawed logic of a cyclist means that as long as there is a cyclist on a road all traffic must go at whatever speed the cyclist desires and there is no room for both. How clueless and spoiled of them.

It's a bike lane, not a bike line.

Motorcyclists adhere to the rules of the road and ride like every car is going to kill them. Cyclists frequently ignore the rules of the road and assume they are masters of all they survey and people need to get out of their way.

Patsy,

You've obviously haven't seen motorcyclist's where I'm from. They ride as if they're daring every car to kill them. When I was a child in the 1970's in New England, it was not uncommon to see the Boston Chapter of the Hell's Angels riding loud and proud in very large packs and actually obeying traffic laws.
