Americans are fun people until politics are involved
In my opinion, September 11, 2001 was the beginning of the end of "fun" in America. Everything became politicized after that. The uber-partisan 'Divide & Conquer' mentality has been fomenting ever since and has been amplified with the usurpation of the presidency four years ago. It's all by design.
