Noel, Buy a good tool, it'll last forever. Think carefully about the job to be done (watch a YouTube) and you won't foul it up (unless you're stupid). A professional will cost many times more than your "expensive" tool, your time, and your materials.

No and no. I hire a good professional. He gets the job done. If he breaks something it's on him. I do my own job with my own skills. I don't have time to learn another once in a while job. I spend money to save me effort and time to do what I want to do with my time.

you dont go up and down, you just wait those 10-15 second as train pass the crossing.... its one lane, not 15.... wasted (stolen) money.

As someone who lives near train crossings, a train can be stopped for some time waiting for the track to clear down the line, so this gives people a chance to get around it. It is not a waste, it is a convenience and a courtesy; and depending on local statutes, it is a regulation.
