Back in 1991, when Hurricane Bob hit Cape Cod, I was vacationing at a friend's beach house. The next day we went out to survey the damage and a large sailboat (among others) had been washed high up onto the beach, about 120' from the shore. A few days later the owners hired a tow boat from a local marina, hooked up a cable to the sailboat, and dragged it back into the water. What this did was completely sand ALL the paint off one side of the hull and leave a huge, long streak of red paint gouged into the sand! It looked like a huge kill had taken place on the beach!
