This is a world wide issue. I live on a tourist destination in Alaska, and it's absolutely gorgeous, and then there's a hard-core population of people who choose to be homeless. Yes we have facilities but they require you to be sober to stay overnight, and day shelter with no limits became a violent druggies den with police and ambulances daily for a population that went from 100 to 800 when the day shelter was opened. I've lived homeless, and I barely comprehend what mental illness they have to become what they became.
