Since in Europe people don't start shooting wildly ASAP, there are other ways of overpowering attackers who are armed with a knife. A Bulletproof vest protects against bullets but not against stabs, a chain mail shirt helps against stabs. And the knife is knocked out of your hand with the staff. Just simple with out pew pew pew
