In 2012, a group of Mexican scientists intentionally crashed a Boeing 727 to test which seats had the best chance of survival.

"On April 27, 2012, a multinational team of television studios staged an airplane crash near Mexicali, Mexico. An unmanned Boeing 727-200, fitted with numerous cameras, crash test dummies and other scientific instruments, was flown into the ground. The exercise was filmed for television."

Well, yeah, in todays age, I can totally see how one would confuse "TV studios pulling of this stunt somewhere in Mexico for audience ratings" with "Mexican SCIENTISTS did something"
