something like this happened to me. It was on my first trip after graduating as a maritime officer so fresh out of school. We arrived at the port of New Orleans in the evening and in the morning I was asked to get some non existing stuff by the chief engineer. So I took the bicycle the engineer told me to use to get it and even got the creditcard to pay. We were fairly close to the historic parts of N.O. so I took of and had a lovely site-seeing day and when I arrived back at the ship late afternoon I told the chief I couldn't find it anywhere. I saw the frustration in his eyes because he had to do the work he wanted me to that day. I just smiled and was never pranked again that trip.
