It reminds me of a game played at a college sports team. They get $100 if they are the first 10 to cross the line. Then told thing like "take a step if you... never had to stop a meal... never had donated clothes left on your doorstep in a bag... never had to put your belongings into a plastic bag rather than a suitcase... never had to get a job to help family pay rent... etc. It really clarified how life holds some people back just by trying to survive without privlages.
Maybe get your son some psychological help instead of indulging his mental illness.
