My guess is either a former sportsman, or thyroid problem.
In 1985, our beloved high school football coach had to retire and his replacement kinda looked like him. We though he was just some fat guy who wasn't going to amount to much, until one day, the team and I were in the weight room working out, and he casually walked in, loaded the bar and benched 500 lbs. Just one rep, and walked out without saying word. We respected the hell out of him after that. We also went 9-0 that year.
