I get your point. I don't even like going to pet stores or zoos because they make me very sad. But, if there's any animal that could use a little human intervention to survive, it would be the Polar Bear. I think this big guy's got it pretty good in its enclosure compared to its compatriots in the ever melting tundra. I'm not a climate alarmist. The Earth will do what it's always done, which is constant and drastic changes every several thousand years.
And who knows... maybe this bear was injured or abandoned at a young age and was saved, and now not able return to the wild. Or it was born in captivity and has no sense of how to survive in the wild. Who knows.
