Daily picdump (116 pics)

Posted in DAILY       17 Nov 2009       25237
I’ve just received about 10 letters from our US visitors, who complained that when they tried to access our site, they were automatically redirected to other websites. And they didn’t manage to access the site anyway after that.
This situation is not our fault. Today we put banners of a new advertising company, who fraudulently adjusted automatic redirect to other websites. We knew nothing about it until now. We have removed these banners and stopped cooperation with this advertising agency.
We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences.

Bizarre People... (24 pics)

There’s a new tendency to shave the eyebrows…Yes, yes, there are people who think that this is cool and that way they are distinguished from the crowd.
Here’s what they answer at the question: "Why did you shave your eyebrows?":
- They are very nasty;
- when I see other people I want to shave their eyebrows;
- eyebrows are ugly, messy and unsightly;
- I don’t see the point to have any hair on your face
And the most popular response is: “I love to paint different eyebrows every day.”
Well, how do you like it? Before answering this question, I suggest you look at the pictures.

After the jump, we will look at a fight between a deer and a bear.
The deer was certainly brave, but frankly, it would be better if he ran away n_sad

Unbelievable. The “Underwater” River... (4 pics + 1 video)

Posted in PICTURES       17 Nov 2009       91640
These amazing pictures were taken by the professional diver Anatoly Beloshchin in the cave Cenote Angelita, Mexico. Here’s his description: “We are 30 meters deep, fresh water, then 60 meters deep – salty water and under me I see a river, island and fallen leaves… Actually, the river, which you can see, is a layer of hydrogen sulphide.”
It must be an unforgettable feeling once you’re there and see it with your own eyes.

Waste Not – Interesting Chinese Art Project (34 pics)

Posted in PICTURES       17 Nov 2009       17663
The artist Song Dong, one of the most inventive figures in contemporary Chinese art, has turned the contents of his mother's former home in Beijing, which was also his childhood home, into the installation titled "Waste Not.
These are all everyday life objects collected by Song Dong’s mother over the span of fifty years - clothes, books, kitchen utensils, toiletries, school supplies, shopping bags, rice bowls, dolls… That’s quite unusual. I like keeping stuff too, but not that and not like that…
“Waste Not” was exhibited at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
