A very interesting and funny story happened to one person. The person ordered a picture in a nautical style to a quite “talented” painter in St. Petersburg. The client told his vision of the picture: the sea at sunset, a beautiful clipper etc.
He sent 3 photos to the painter with instructions: Take the photo # 1 for basis and details from photos 2 and 3.
He paid the painter in advance and the work began. The final result is after the jump.

Punkin Chunkin is hurling a pumpkin by mechanical means over great heights and distances in an attempt to hurl the pumpkin the farthest. It started in 1986 in Millsboro.
The World Championship Punkin' Chunkin' is even held every year on the first weekend after Halloween in Sussex County, Delaware. Competing teams construct and fire a variety of pumpkin-launching devices, including catapults, trebuchets, centrifugal machines, and pneumatic cannons.
People spend big money to construct all these mechanical firing devices just for this one day in a year.

It's always a shame to see ruined cars, especially when it’s brand new ones. They will never be brought back to shape after that; the only thing left is the recycling. On the first picture you see a man who is holding his little daughter of two years old by a leg out of the window.
He wanted to commit suicide and at the same time kill his innocent daughter.
And if it were not courageous actions of a rescuer, who knows how it could have ended. Finally, the police arrested the father who later tested positive for drugs.

Huacachina is a small lost paradise located in the desert of the Ica region, in south-western Peru. There are only 115 inhabitants (1999).
The particularity of this village is that it has been built around a small natural lake in the desert called the "Oasis of America.”
The two main activities in addition to swimming are sandboarding and taking dune buggy rides on sand dunes that stretch several hundred feet high.
Going on vacations in an oasis is rather cool and frankly, I would be glad to spend one week or two over there this summer!

The construction of the Colorado River Bridge over Hoover Dam continues and the opening is planned in 2010.
It is a real mega construction, the total length of the bridge will be 579 meters and the height will be 256 meters above the Colorado River.
The bridge will give a magnificent view on the dam and will be open not only for motorists but for pedestrians too.
