A 116-meter-high (380 feet), 32-story, 50,000-ton university tower built in 1972 was razed to the ground in a matter of seconds yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany.
It's the tallest-ever building in Europe to be demolished by a blast. They used 950 kilograms of explosives that they inserted into 1,500 strategically placed drilled holes.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat team constructed this make-shift Afghan town in Hohenfels Germany where the local Afghans are portrayed by Germans. The village is part of a training program for US soldiers.

The world’s longest tree top walk can be found in the Bavarian Forest National Park in Neuschonua, Germany. The natural trail is a whopping 44 meters (144ft) high and 1 300 meters (0.8miles) long. The path winds up into a ‘tree tower’ and the wooden construction allows unspoiled views towards the Lusen and Rachel mountains. The tower also has an elevator, which allows wheelchair and pram access as well as information points at various stops along the path.
Believe it or not there is an actual “Hipster Olympics” with actual events, such as “horn-rimmed glasses toss” and skinny jeans tog o’ war” held in Germany.

Welcome to Tiger & Turtle Magic Mountain. This sculpture is the most unusual in the world. It is a frozen roller coaster that you don’t ride. You walk it. It is designed by Heike Mutter and Ulrich Genth and built in Duisburg, Germany. As visitors rise by 45 meters (147 feet) above the level of landscape, they get an amazing view over the Rhine.

This fair trade annually held in Cologne, Germany has presented the best of what’s to come in the video games sector and once again, hundreds of thousands people visited it.
This is the world’s largest model airport. It is located in Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany. It seems to be about 1/50 scale and the attention to detail is amazing. Without something in the photos to determine its size, you would swear it is a real airport.
Can you imagine a cow being a well-trained show horse? Thanks to 15-year-old Regina Mayer from Germany it’s now possible. The girl from Laufen always dreamt about her own horse, but her parents who had a stable full of cows refused to get her one. So Regina started to train her pet cow Luna.
It was discovered that a 750-year-old Emmaus Church in eastern Germany sat upon lignite, or brown coal. The church wasn’t demolished. A more interesting solution was found.
These gay Olympics were held in Cologne, Germany. More than 10,000 athletes gathered there to compete against each another in 2010. Although they are very athletic looking, you can easily tell they are gay by their poses.
This is a giant landslide in Schmalkalden, Germany. Although the cause of the landslide isn’t known, what is known is the amount of devastation it caused. One of the things it caused was a tremendous hole right in the middle of a road.
