33 miners were trapped at San Jose mine in Copiapo for more than two months. They were sealed 2,041-foot into the mine's lower reaches by a collapse of 700,000 tons of rock. Finally, these men were hoisted to the surface in a rescue capsule on October 12-13. The Chilean emergency workers and President Sebastian Pinera met them on the ground. Residents and pedestrians watched the rescue on a large screen in a public square and on TVs in electronics store. No one in recorded history has survived as long trapped underground as these 33 miners. For the first two weeks, no one even knew whether they were alive.

People believe that dogs are smart. But this one was stupid enough to get into a difficult situation.

Shirva locals had an unusual adventure this month. Everything started with the Sapaliga family searching for their pet dog. They found it in the open well. The dog was chased by a hungry leopard who went hunting near Shirva. Both animals accidentally fell into the well, but were rescued by locals and forest personnel who used cages to catch exhausted “adventurers”. The dog has been returned to its master. As for the leopard, it was transported to the National Reserve Forest at Kudremukh.
Robert Kiraly heard a loud noise in his courtyard at night. When he got outside, he found a 200 pound black bear with his head stuck in a milk barrel. It turned out the bear decided to find something to eat and squeezed his head in a milk can that was on the porch. When he felt that his head got stuck, he started yelling wildly trying to escape.
Some animals endanger their lives and health just because of being too curious. That's when only people come to help.
This is a true story. It happened some time ago.
In one small English town, a crowd of people had gathered under a tree.
They thought about how to save the iguana, which they clearly saw on one of the branches.
It was decided to call emergency services. Rescuers arrived, climbed the tree and ... started to laugh.
You’ll see why after the jump.
After a night of getting drunk this Ukrainian tourist who has a hangover will leave the taxpayers with a huge rescue bill and a night he will never forget. Following a night on the town, enjoying the best in 100 proof liquid refreshments, this 19 year old man wound up getting stuck and passing out halfway down a cliff he was scaling near Manly. Rescue workers were alerted by a fisherman and found that the man was asleep on his back on a ledge 30 m above sea level at North Head early the next morning. While the man will only be charged the cost of a trip to the hospital, as little as $700, the rescue operation will cost taxpayers at least $10,000. The man who repeatedly shook the man’s leg to wake him so he could be safely winched back up, Garth Thomson, said he had never seen anything like this in his ambulance career of 15 years.
The dog in these photos is one lucky pooch. Apparently the dog got caught in some flood waters in Las Angeles California and had to be rescued. The rescuers had to life and limb to save the animal and my hat goes off to them.
2 geologists have rescued two young deer which were stuck on the middle of a frozen lake.
A very good deed that saved the lives of those two poor creatures.
Take a look..
A guy was driving to work when he saw a great horned owl on the side of the freeway, next to a wall. The owl could fly but not very well, so the guy thought the creature had been hit by a car. He caught the owl and took it with him. Later, he got a box to put it in, which made the things easier because the owl was pretty mad. Then, he dropped the owl off at a state park where an animal rescue team took care of it. Now, the owl is doing well and should be ready for release. The guy managed to take these 6 pics that I actually find impressive, look at its big eyes! The owl looks so mad!
During the counting of cattle on a farm, the owner discovered that one calf was missing. Soon, the missing calf was found at the bottom of an abandoned well.
It couldn’t get out.
To save the calf, the farmer had to call the fire brigade and an excavator. They dug a trench, broke the wall of the well and pulled the scared animal out.
The guardians of a park in Colorado found a bear sitting in a special pit for skateboarders.
It seems that the bear had spent the whole night there. He wasn’t able to get out of there because the concrete walls are smooth and there is nothing to cling to.
Look after the jump how they helped him.
A lady was walking with her dog on the Brighton pier in Melbourne, Australia.
Because of gale force winds, the dog was blown off pier into the water.
Fortunately, a 20-year-old guy decided to help the poor dog. He jumped into the water to rescue the animal.
And it was a happy-end.
Sometimes, animals kill humans, sometimes they save their lives. Here, it’s the latter. This Beluga whale named Mila was not playing and not hurting the diver, it just came to recue her.
Here is the story: Yang Yun, 26, was participating in a free diving contest (without breathing equipment) among whales when she suffered from cramps because of the freezing cold. Fortunately, Mila took the diver’s leg in its mouth and took her to the surface. And happily, the Beluga whale has small teeth so the diver was not injured.
Well, just another beautiful story with humans and animals :))
Take a look on those amazing pics after the jump.
A woman turned over in her boat in the swirling water at the base of a dam. She couldn’t get out and rescue boats couldn’t come near enough to pull her out.
Who do you think came into her rescue?... An ordinary guy, a construction worker saw her and without thinking he and his crew made a rescue operation involving a crane. The worker hung on the chains that were attached to the crane and then he was lowered to the water by the crane and could grab the woman’s hand and pulled her out.
Hats off to the real hero!!!
Another story about the rescue of a seal who miraculously escaped a hungry killer whale.
See how ended this attempt to have lunch.
The happy ending is guaranteed))
A little boy decided to wash his cocker spaniel puppy who was only one week-old and had the “great” idea to put him in the toilet and pull the chain.
They had to call the drainage company that by using a special camera and equipment were able to locate the puppy, which was approximately 20 meters from the house, and get him out.
The puppy is recovering well and is in a good shape now. But I think, little children shouldn’t be left alone with puppies ...
The poor dog could not climb down of the tree, he was too scared. So people called a service specialised in solving that kind of problems. The rescue was fast and everything ended well, but I’m still asking myself how the dog could get there ?!
A police officer managed to save 12 ducklings, which fell in a storm drain and were trapped there.
On the first photo is hero: Eileen Emiddio and one of the concerned parents. They await the arrival of emergency service unit.
Look how the rescue operation took place.
Guess, what is he doing there?
To see, go inside the post )
The day before yesterday we already put the video of this incident.
But now I got the details.
“Propelled sideways, the truck sweeps over 32-year-old Cem Tokac, who was standing beside the tracks.
Amazingly, he was swept underneath the truck between its wheels.
The train then missed him by just inches, meaning Tokac had cheated death twice.
He survived with just bruises and a scratch to his ear.” [Mail online]
I watched this video several times and thought that the man actually had died but as I wrote earlier he survived, a pure miracle.
I found some pictures and put once again the video made by surveillance cameras for those who didn’t see it.
Because of infernal heat in Australia this small Koala hid in the shed to wait there till dusk.
The people that lived there had noticed her and give her a cold bath :)
