It’s hard to believe that these sculptures were all made out of snow, considering their incredible detail and size. Good thing there are pictures because the sun is bound to melt these masterpieces away.
Meanwhile, the snow continues to sweep the USA. This 2011 blizzaster is the largest snow storm in decades.
This clever guy found a way to beat the snow in the wintertime on his bike. So now he can ride around in the freezing weather being miserable just like the pedestrians. However, he will get to where he is going sooner.
After the blizzards in the north space savers have come out of the closet to be used to hold shoveled out parking spots. It is a long tradition in cities like Chicago, South Boston, and other large cities to use an item to hold your parking space after you spend hours removing the snow.
We had a record amount of snow overnight in our area in the UK so decided to get out and enjoy it.
I don’t know where these photos were taken but you have never seen so much snow in your life. It has everything covered and what looks like people trying to dig into their homes. Winter has certainly arrived wherever it is.
Ice storms are not uncommon in Russia, and the aftereffects can be devastating. Here is one that took place in Petrozavodsk, Russia. It would appear that they bring everything to a complete stop.

This train looks very unusual. It is used as a snow blower machine that cleans railways from snow. Take a look at how it works.
We saw it the other day, some employee’s job is to clear the snow from roofs in order for them not to collapse as snow can be very heavy…
And here it goes again, some workers who seem to not care about anything just threw the damn snow anywhere… and in this case – on the cars!
What a bunch of assholes…
Dominique Gisin of Switzerland crashed heavily in the women's downhill at Vancouver Olympic Games.
These are the photos of her fall and of some other dangerous moments.
I’m sure you’re wondering who’s living in such a snowy and isolated place?
Well actually, not a lot of people and it’s certainly not their first home as it is for their work!
It’s in fact a meteorological station which is located in the Giant Mountains, in the north of the Czech Republic.
Whenever a TV forecaster predicts snow, there is the inevitable urge to panic. The first thing people do, think that they won’t be able to get to a grocery store is to run out and strip the local supermarket bare down to the shelves. According to these photos, that is precisely what the folks did in Washington DC and New York did when they heard it was going to snow.
Sent by Raymond Bell. Thanks a lot Raymond.
Welcome to Canada
After seeing those pics I’m quite comfortable with winter, we have here: +50,00°F

Explanations and more photos await you after the jump..
It happened in Worley, Idaho.
The train tried to make its way in all the snow but failed and got stuck.
The car is there, I know it :)
Harbin, north-eastern China, is hosting its 26th international ice and snow sculpture festival.
This event is very unique and spectacular, especially during night with all the lights and colors.
Massive buildings have been carved from ice like palaces, pagodas… and even a sphinx!
Very amazing..
In some Russian villages, they go to places called ‘banya’ which are in fact nothing more than saunas. As not everybody can go to those places, one man got the idea to make a mobile ‘banya’. He made a little wooden house that he equipped to make a sauna and that he mounted on an old tractor. Now the villagers just have to call for the mobile sauna house to come to their place. We can’t stop progress..
Not only snowmen can be made from snow.
If you use your imagination and spend some of your time and of course if you have just a little bit of talent, you can create something incomparable.
And this “incomparable” is waiting you in the following of the post.
Andy and Pike, 2 polar bears at the San Francisco Zoo had a nice gift for the first day of winter. Indeed, 10 tons of donated ice was turned in snow and shot into their exhibit to create a fun playground on December 21.
Look how happy they are, it’s the best gift they could offer to those two polar bears, except freedom and real snow…
Another set of pictures depicting the adventures of Lego Star Wars figurines.
This time it is on the planet Hoth. It must be freezing out there :)
Yep, winter is already here… A BMW is under the snow, wow!
It’s a very difficult task.
Can you guess what these trails are about??? ;))
