Vehicle insurance (also known as auto insurance, car insurance, or motor insurance) is insurance purchased for cars, trucks, and other road vehicles. Its primary use is to provide protection against physical damage and/or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise there from.
In the Gippsland Lakes in Australia bioluminescence is a very unique, beautiful, and rare phenomenon that results from a chain of events such as flash floods, storms, and bushfires that triggers a population explosion of one particular type of algae. It is very strange to observe and might make the observer think that were being invaded by another extraterrestrial species.
What do you think you see on the photo? If you think that these are birds, butterflies or locusts then you are wrong. The answer is inside the post.
Recently we showed you the pictures of an amazing phenomenon called Cappuccino coast in Cape Town, South Africa. Today you’ll see the pictures of the same phenomenon but in Australia. It’s not cappuccino, but rather latte ;)
This is a very rare Coke poster that was an ad published in South Australia in the 1980s. At least, this is what a guy who sells it on eBay says. The artist who drew this, hid the picture in the Coke advertisement, and the ad went into the market unnoticed. Of course, when the drawing was finally noticed, all posters were at once recalled and the artist was fired and sued.
Money does grow on the trees. Australian RaboDirect bank has proved it by setting up a hilarious experiment. Bank workers chose a tree in one of the Sydney’s city parks and planted real five-dollar bills on it. They also used a hidden video camera to record people’s reaction to the abnormal dollar tree.
No Photoshop here people, it’s 100% real!
So what is this really?
Some of the photos look as if they were photoshopped but it is only a natural phenomenon, although very rare. It is mostly observed in Northern Australia's Gulf of Carpentaria. As you can see, the cloud looks like a roll. It can be up to 1000 kilometres long, 1 to 2 kilometres high, and can move at speeds up to 60 kilometres per hour.
The morning glory cloud is truly impressive!
Cool pictures from the Australian zombie walk, Melbourne Zombie Shuffle. Thanks a lot to our visitor Briere who sent us the link to these photos in the Facebook group.
Check them out.
A promotional campaign took place in Sydney to mark the opening of a new clothing label. A 400-pound block of ice was put at the Martin Place with 1000 Australian dollars frozen inside. To get them, people had to work hard ;)
This is how ‘spring’ has started in Australia. An unprecedented hailstorm hit Melbourne.
In several hours, it was impossible to drive on the road. In some areas of the city, the water depth on the streets reached half a meter.
EDIT: For those who are surprised to see SPRING instead of AUTUMN. It was written on purpose, that's why it was put into quotation marks..
I always though of Australia as a great destination to catch some waves and have the rest of your life… The only thing is with all these dangerous animals that inhabits the “promised vacation land”, you should be very careful where you put your foot whenever you are near the coral reefs of coastal Australia, so that this wouldn’t become a “rest in peace vacation” ;)
Another selection of photographs of criminals taken in a police station but this time these are Sydney police mug shots from 1912-1930.
Previous part:
Mug Shots from the Past
A burglar who spent his ill gotten gains on booze and prostitutes.
Recently, Mud Run took place in Peats Ridge, Australia. Professionals and amateurs took part in the Run for 6 and 12 kilometers.
Many of them don’t really know why they “swam” in the mud, but all the participants said they did it for a good laughter and positive emotions ))
1700 beach towels were laid out during a Skin Cancer Action Week event on Bondi Beach on November 15, 2009 in Sydney, Australia.
The event was organized by the Cancer Council which placed 1700 beach towels on the beach – one for each of the 1700 Australians who die each year because of skin cancer.
It’s an original way of reminding people that they have to be careful with sun exposure!

But at the same time, one of them was a large great white shark and it was two times bigger than the other one.
See what happened next.
One of the world's longest man made structures is the Australian Dingo Fence. In fact it is also the world's longest fence ever.
Stretching across two southeastern Australian states, Queensland and South Australia, the Dingo Fence is 5,614 kilometres long.
Please note that this "dog fence" is not really made of dogs. If it was, it would take 5,614,000 dingoes standing nose-to-butt to construct this fence.
There’s a theme park in the Australian city of Darwin where you can swim with huge crocodiles. The attraction is called ‘Cage of death’.
Of course, people who long to try this attraction are put in a glass box, but still, the pictures give shivers, especially when you see the size of a crocodile.
Would you like to experience something similar? ;)
Giant six meter crocodiles inhabit the river Adelaide near the city of Darwin, Australia.
Along the river, so-called "jumping crocodile” cruises take place, during which visitors are invited to look at the terrible reptiles - the enormous crocodiles jumping out of water.
Frankly, I was shocked, I did not think that these monsters can jump so high.
A lady was walking with her dog on the Brighton pier in Melbourne, Australia.
Because of gale force winds, the dog was blown off pier into the water.
Fortunately, a 20-year-old guy decided to help the poor dog. He jumped into the water to rescue the animal.
And it was a happy-end.
The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world, composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 1,600 mi over an area of approximately 133,000 sq mi.
Most of the reefs are under water.
It is simply a paradise for lovers of scuba diving and the beautiful underwater world. After the jump, you will find a compilation of incredibly beautiful pictures from this fabulous place.
A burst water main created a 25-metre hole that buried two parked cars and a power pole and caused a landslide into Cooper Park.
I was particularly impressed with photos taken from a helicopter. You will see them at the end of the post.

These are the effects of natural selection.
Viewer discretion is advised.
400,000 people turned out to watch the largest gay pride march in the Asia Pacific wind its way through the city's Oxford Street gay district.
Around 10,000 marchers took part in the parade. And there was a lot to see, a great show ;)
You have probably seen this picture. Now we have the story.
During the extinction of bushfires in Australia the firefighters found a koala who managed to escape fires. They gave him water and took it to the animal refuge.
The vets noticed that its paws were damaged by fire. But now everything seems to be fine for Sam the Koala. His paws were taken care of.
The pictures are after the jump.
By the way, we’ve already posted an entry about another rescued koala
Because of infernal heat in Australia this small Koala hid in the shed to wait there till dusk.
The people that lived there had noticed her and give her a cold bath :)
