Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region bordering Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic Sea. It’s known for its vast subarctic wilderness, ski resorts and natural phenomena including the midnight sun and the Northern Lights. If you plan on taking a trip in winter, Lapland is definitely a place to go.

The eve of May Day, traditionally celebrated with dancing, came to be known as Walpurgisnacht ("Walpurga's night"). The name of the holiday is Vappu in Finnish. With live music, drinking and dressing up, this day in Finland show students gathering to rejoice and celebrate.

It took six and a half hours to save these two dogs that fell into a deep ravine in south-eastern Finland. 10-year-old dachshund Daphne and 4-year-old Fawn Brittany Basset Ester were chasing badgers when they fell into ravine. They were trapped there for two days, but luckily, the dogs are now recovering well from the traumatizing experience.
The popular mobile game developed by the Finnish company Rovio Entertainment now has its own theme park called Angry Birds Land. It has been opened at Särkänniemi Adventure Park in Tampere, Finland.
