Flooding from Hurricane Katrina caused this popular destination to close and now it has become a favorite haunt of photographers, drifters and taggers. This place would be the ideal venue for a future zombie movie.

A small single engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing onto a street and park. The plane hit a parked minivan that was full of five people, but luckily no one was injured.

This is Six Flags, an amusement park in Eastern Orleans. It’s been 5 years after its shutdown. The park was closed because of the floods caused by Hurricane Katrina.

On August 18, 2009, it was announced that the land would be re-developed into a Nickelodeon-branded water/theme park.

As of early 2010, the site is overgrown with debris and weeds. Removal of the debris and underbrush has now begun.
