This amazing aircraft art is a form of graffiti that is painted on the nose of a military aircraft. Some of them have pinup girls painted on them but in a tasteful way. The artwork itself is incredible.
Sentimental journey :: B-17 Flying Fortress
This is the BAE Hawk, a British single engine, advanced jet trainer aircraft.
But… doesn't it seem strange to you?
The base in these photos is home to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Group (309 AMARG) which repairs some of the aircraft and even gets some of them flying again. Electronics, wiring, munitions, and engines are all recycled to help reduce the cost of maintaining today’s fleet. The U.S. government even allows the military in other countries to buy parts and planes from the site. The facility is the size of 1,300 football fields. The desert is a perfect place to store the mass of steel, because the small amount of rainfall means low humidity which means very little rust occurs.
Looking at these pictures, you begin to understand why people are always trying to get a seat at the window.
Just look at these truly magnificent landscapes that can be seen and at the view in general. Indescribable beauty!
After the jump you will see a failed landing of a jetfighter.
Plus, you’ll see an emergency landing of another military aircraft.
The white halo you can see on the pics is called the Prandtl–Glauert singularity (sometimes referred to as a "vapor cone"). It is the point at which a sudden drop in air pressure occurs, and is generally accepted as the cause of the visible condensation cloud that often surrounds an aircraft traveling at transonic speeds.
Inside the post, you will see that kind of pictures. That’s quite impressive.
Even if birds are much smaller than aircraft, a mid-air collision with them can lead to very unexpected consequences.
Just look what damage the planes get in collisions with birds. But it is of course the birds that suffer most and die ((
I think you have guessed what they all have in common ...
If not, go inside the post. There, everything will be clear ))
Elegant and stylish! It even makes you wanna live there let alone travelling.
